Hello and welcome to my latest blog post. This week I will be talking about summer staples that are key items in my wardrobe for this time of year. Now we all know I don’t have what you would call a capsule wardrobe, I have an extensive wardrobe 😂 but there are some things that I do wear on repeat! All of these items can be mixed and matched to create different looks.
On to the items….
First up a maxi dress, which is great for dressing up for evenings or dressing down for the day. This one is a shirt dress from H&M that also comes in black and a floral pattern. Next a good pair of black heeled sandals, these are super versatile and also comfy to walk in which is a key consideration these days!
Another key item is a white dress, with a tan this would look even nicer! This is from Reiss and I got in at the outlet store in Portsmouth so I can’t see it online but I have found an alternative from Silk Fred that is a super similar style. I also think loafers are a really good summer shoe that go with so many outfits, these are beige ones but I also have some black ones to mix and match with.
Outfit three has three key summer staple items, first up a good striped shirt, this could be in any colour combo. I would say an oversized one is good to have because you can make so many different outfits. This is from H&M and I have it is green and blue as well. Secondly a good pair of denim shorts are essential for this season and these ones are a good fit for me. They are H&M and they have them in various colours. Last up are my Birkenstock’s that you will remember from last weeks full blog on them. These are mine that I got from ASOS.
This outfit also has three key summer essentials that you could mix and match across all these looks. My sleeveless T-shirt is one I have been wearing on repeat, it is from shockingly H&M! Here is a link to it and a couple of alternatives, a cotton T-shirt version and another sleeveless version is a few different colours. Next up a good pair of white jeans in whatever style you find comfortable, these are from Stradivarius and are high waisted slim fit ones. Finally some white trainers are super easy to wear and style at this time of year and all year round. Mine were a bargain from Matalan.
This whole outfit is made up of summer staples I would say. Starting with the lightweight blazer, this is a great one for day or night just to throw on when the English weather is being unkind. This is a light green colour and is from H&M, they also have it in a few other lovely colours. Next up the ribbed vest top is another piece that can go with so many outfits, jeans, formal trousers, shorts or skirts! This is a creamy colour but is also available in other classic colours. Lastly these light wash jeans are a good basis to have in your wardrobe, I think a lighter colour makes jeans feel more summery.
I think if you are struggling for what to wear you can’t go wrong with a T-shirt, blazer and jeans combo.
On to my last three summer staples, a good white tee, linen trousers and an oversized white shirt. Starting with the white tee this is from Stradivarius, but you will find good ones in most high street stores. I have heard good things about the Arket and & Other Stories ones if you are willing to pay a bit more for them. Next up the oversized white shirt is a great piece to throw over dresses, T-shirt’s and even bikinis and shorts as an additional layer. Lastly a pair of linen trousers, I find them a good alternative when you don’t want to wear jeans, you could dress them up for an evening look with a black vest top, heeled sandals and some gold jewellery.
That’s it for my summer staples blog, I hope you have enjoyed reading and found some ideas for classic pieces to add to your wardrobe to see you through these summer months and maybe even beyond. I haven’t decided on next weeks blog yet so it will be a surprise!
Hello and welcome to my latest blog post! This week we are talking about Birkenstock sandals. If this is your first visit to my page, welcome! You might want to check out my other posts, I have ones on white shirt styling, satin slip dress, occasion wear and ways to wear white jeans amongst others.
First up the Birkenstock’s I’ve wearing. There is so much choice on the market when it comes to Birkenstock’s, so many different styles. To be honest I chose mine based on price! They were the cheapest ones I could find, I haven’t had them before so rather than spending £60-£90 on them straightaway I wanted to see whether I liked them. The verdict is I do, they are so comfy and go with everything so I may be investing in some different colours! There is the link to the ones I have. Also here are some other options, a lilac pair or these brown versions. If your not in the market for spending a lot there are some great dupes on the high street, someone shared some on Instagram from Primark that looked like a great buy.
Outfit one is all items I have shown you before in various different outfits but let me refresh you! This oversized blazer is a H&M buy and is still in stock, they also have it in grey check. My sleeveless T-shirt is a wardrobe staple of mine that I have been wearing on repeat, I will be getting it in more colours! The skirt is also from H&M you will probably recognise it from my occasion wear blog where I dressed it up, here I have dressed it down for a daytime look. Last up my handbag is one that I have on constant repeat at the moment and it is from Fiorelli and out of stock so I have an alternative from Parfois that is super cute.
Next up I have teamed the Birkenstock’s with a pair of classic shorts and the summer classic, a white shirt! This one has a nice tie detail at the front and is still in stock, they also have it in snake print. My shorts are a charity shop find from a couple of years ago, but the high street have a lot of beige options on the market, these are H&M ones. Lastly I have added a black clutch bag to tie the black of the sandals into the outfit, again mine is a charity shop/eBay find I think. I have found this oversized clutch bag on Deichmann that would work well.
For outfit three I have gone for a summer dress look, this dress is from Shein about three years ago, I brought it for my last beach holiday to Santorini. New look have a super similar alternative for this season which looks like great quality! I have paired it with a straw bag from H&M that is perfect for beach days, they also have it in white now.
For outfit four, of course I had to bring the favourite jeans out! These are the collusion studio ones I talk about all the time, I have now picked up another pair as I feared they would stop stocking them. I have paired them with a classic T-shirt and oversized shirt combo. My tee is from In The Style last year but I have found one in a similar colour from Adidas on ASOS. The green of this shirt matches pretty well, it is a H&M one that they have in black and white as well, I sized up two sizes on this one for the oversized look. Lastly my handbag is my classic Cambridge satchel company one that you have all seen many times before, link to a similar one here.
For my last outfit I have gone more formal/workwear, not sure if you can wear Birkenstock’s to the office, health and safety and all but never mind! Starting with my necklace, this is a Mango one that I got from ASOS and I wear it so much. Next up is another T-shirt from H&M that has become a staple in my wardrobe, I have my eye on a couple of the other colours! My blazer is one of the ones I showed you in my blazer edit that had sold out. I have struggled to find anything really similar but I have a couple of colourful tropical options. First of all this Silk Fred one that is currently half price and a bargain £15. Secondly a LaRedoute one that is a bit more expensive but looks like it would be a super flattering shape.
My trousers are of course the Lorna Luxe ones from In The Style, they are my go to trousers when I want a bit of a smarter look. Lastly my gorgeous new coach bag 😍. I did an unboxing of this on my Instagram so head over there if you want to see it in more detail @whatkatyworenext_ Graham kindly got this for me on our trip away to Portsmouth. We went to Gunwharf Quays which is a designer outlet shopping centre, so the bag wasn’t as expensive as they are online. It took me hours to choose, we were in and out of Michael Kors, Radley, Kate Spade and finally I settled on this Coach one. I can’t find my exact colour way online anywhere but Harrods have this beauty currently in their sale 😍.
That’s it for my Birkenstock styling ideas, I hope you have enjoyed reading! Next week I am thinking either denim shorts outfits or summer key staples, if you want to be the first to know what I choose then please subscribe and you will be notified when the blog is live.
Hello and welcome to this weeks blog. I decided to do an occasion wear part two, mainly because I have so many items that haven’t seen the light of day for a while and I am excited to get them out! If you did miss part one you can find it here.
Let’s get straight to the outfits….
This dress was my first in store purchase in a while actually, I nipped in to my local New Look and picked up this dress and also the shoes in the sale! Here is the link to the dress. I can’t see the exact shoes but I have found similar on the New Look website. My handbag is a new favourite of mine that I think I have wheeled out for the last three blogs, it just goes with so much in my wardrobe. Like I mentioned last week, it is now sold out but Fiorelli have the same one in different designs.
I haven’t actually worn this jumpsuit since my birthday a couple of years ago so it was nice to get it back out of the wardrobe! This is another New Look one actually, the nearest I could find was this button up jumpsuit from Silk Fred in the same grey leopard print as mine. My handbag is another one that has made multiple appearances over the last few weeks and similarly it is now sold out. Shoeaholics do however have the black version in stock currently. Lastly my shoes are a few years old now but are just classic court shoes that make a return to the shelves every year. These Carvela ones are a good option and are currently on sale!
This sleeveless blazer is a new addition to the family of blazers I have and it has already had a couple of outings! It is ASOS and I picked it up in the sale, it looks like it is actually still in stock, they also seem to do it in a green version as well. My sparkly top is my first H&M offering of this weeks blog which is a shock to the system. I can’t find my exact one but this is super similar and currently in the sale. My trousers are my trusty Lorna Luxe for In The Style contour leggings that I wear at least once a week. They don’t seem to have a lot of stock currently but they seem to get them back in frequently as I think they must be everyone’s favourites!
My shoes are also ones that make a regular appearance on this blog, I do however find different similar ones most weeks to show you and this week is no different. These are from Red Foot Shoes and currently reduced to £20 from £78 😳. Lastly my handbag used to be my go to night out bag, so it doesn’t get many outings now! I have found this sparkly alternative on Next for you.
If you follow me over on Instagram @whatkatyworenext_ you will have seen I wore this look for a meal out when we were away in Portsmouth last week. The silky shirt is a new H&M find and they actually do shorts and a dress in the same pattern, but i thought I would get more wear from the shirt (I’m actually wearing it as I write this) I might be becoming tempted by the dress but we’ll see! My jacket is H&M from last year but I found a similar one on the “goes well with” section of the website for this shirt, which I will link here. My faux leather leggings are another piece from the Lorna Luxe collection, she is launching the third part of her summer collection on Sunday and I have my eye on a bright pink blazer (as if I need another blazer!). My shoes are the New Look ones I have mentioned in outfit one.
I have saved the fanciest outfit for last! This dress is a vintage one I picked up in my favourite charity shop near me that specialises in vintage items, I must get back there. I don’t think it had ever been wore as it still had the tags on it! I have wore it on a couple of occasion now and I love it! These two are the most similar I could find online, first up this off the shoulder number from Silk Fred or this Bardot dress from Frank and Doll, but as I’ve said before check out those charity shops. My handbag is of course my Vivienne Westwood, I have actually found it on Wardow for 30% off this week!! Lastly my heels are a new in purchase from Peacocks when I was in town at the weekend, I just thought they would add a good pop on colour to a black outfit.
That’s it for the final instalment of my occasion wear edit, I hope you have enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my Instagram for daily outfits, reels and hauls! Next week will either be ways to wear Birkenstock’s for different occasions or a big new in summer haul, watch this space.
Hello and welcome to my latest blog post, thanks for stopping by! This week we are focusing on occasion wear, whether that be, wedding guest, christening or party I have you covered! I thought this was appropriate timing with the world opening back up again. FYI I tried to do my hair in a different way for these pictures but I haven’t done anything more then a ponytail in months so it was an epic fail! 😂
Anyways let’s get straight to the outfits…..
Outfit one is actually all H&M, shock 😂! The main focus is this pretty floral tiered mini dress that is a budget friendly £14.99 and actually still in stock. Next up this jacquard weave jacket is super flattering with its nipped in waist and is a great piece to keep you warm but not detract from the dress. The cute clutch bag is no longer available on the website but I have found one in the same style just plain black.
Lastly my sandals I have shared lots, I haven’t actually worn them outside of the house yet! 😂. Here’s the link to them if you have missed it before.
Outfit two I have styled around this yellow satin mini shirt, another recent H&M purchase, they also do this in leopard print, pink or black. This would look good dressed down for the daytime with an oversized tee and trainers. I think we can all guess where this blazer and tote bag are from 😂, I also have the jacket in a mint green colour which you may have seen in my blazer edit. This bag has been out of stock for a while now so I’m not sure if they are bringing it back, I have found an alternative for you in the sale on Fiorelli in what they call Jungle print.
You can’t see particularly well but my top is actually appliqué and I have teamed it with a little black vest top to stop it being see through. This is a New Look one from years ago that was a staple in my night out wardrobe. The nearest thing I can find is this from Na-kd which is actually long sleeved but gives the same look. My heels are Primark from a few years ago, but you can pick up similar in most stores, New Look have some on sale that I have linked.
Outfit three is based around these gorgeous trousers from Zara. They have them in like ten colours which is just dangerous as they fit so well I can feel more jumping into my basket! I have paired the trousers with this body suit that I have had for years and got from Depop, it was my favourite night out top! I think it’s pretty unusual and I have really struggled to find anything similar, the nearest I can see is this satin bodysuit from &OtherStories which comes in three colour choices.
My blazer is a favourite of mine that I roll out at least once a week at the moment! I feel like I have said a hundred times but it Stradivarius and no longer in stock, I only originally picked it up as it was in the sale so glad I saw it. An alternative is this from Freeman’s, love the buttons! Next up my Kurt Geiger cross body bag from TKMaxx. I can’t find the exact one anywhere but Selfridges have the black version and FarFetch have a different style in a similar colour. Lastly my heels are the only pair of non black heels I have! I found some from Evolve Clothing that look similar.
Outfit four I have brought the shiny skirt out again, you might remember it from my spring pastels blog. I have no idea where this one is from it’s been in my wardrobe for so long! I have found similar on I Saw It First and at the time of writing this they had a everything £10 offer on! The trusty trench coat is also back out to play, this one has its own two part blog, part one here and part two here. I can’t see mine anymore but H&M have this lovely alternative.
My cute little white T-shirt with the lace bib detailing which my boyfriend says makes me look like I’m in a pirate outfit 🙄 is another Stradivarius purchase. I have two options for you on this one, firstly Monki have a version with button down detailing and Boohoo also have one with what they are calling a Peter Pan collar. Lastly my handbag I shared the link to last week but here she is in the flesh, she is actually cross body but I just holding her like she is a clutch. She is now out of stock but Fiorelli have another one in a similar design.
My last outfit is this blue and black zebra print tiered dress that I think would be perfect as a wedding guest look. This is a New look sale item that is still in stock in limited sizes, mine is the petite version, which I have linked here, there is also the main collection version. My belt is a H&M purchase, I got the XS. It it is still a little big on my waist so I would say size down.
My handbag is a vintage charity shop or EBay find I can’t remember, again it is a shoulder bag but I am using it as an oversized clutch here. Couple of options for alternatives, depending on your budget. Far Fetch have this Vivienne Westwood envelope clutch bag in their sale with 25% off. Na-Kd have a more affordable option with this slouchy oversized clutch bag. Lastly my heels (the last in a long line of black strappy heels!) These are super old New Look ones I think, my suggestion for an alternative are these from Kurt Geiger, currently with 43% off, they also come in blush.
That’s it for my occasion wear blog, I hope you have found some ideas for all those belated occasions we have coming up! I have decided that next week I will do a part two on this as I have so many ideas that I want to share! I hope you will join me, don’t forget to like and subscribe to my page, it’s much appreciated 😊.
Hello and welcome to my latest blog post ways to style black leather leggings for spring, today I have five outfits to show you. Hopefully it will inspire you to utilise your leather leggings for spring and not just the winter months.
Let’s start by talking about the leggings I have chosen for these outfits. They are faux leather leggings from New Look and I have definitely mentioned them multiple times on this blog! They are currently in the sale and I plan on picking up another pair of them as I wear mine so much they are getting worn out! Here is the link for them I really like the knee detail on them.
I have also found a couple of alternatives for varying budgets, all on ASOS actually, so I will list them below:
First up I have gone for a classic T-shirt and blazer combo, which is a perfect daytime outfit. Starting with the oversized blazer, this is a wool blend H&M one that I picked up in the sale last year. This was on my blazer edit blog a couple of weeks ago, so check out there for some more alternatives but I have found a new one from Mango at John Lewis that I have linked. My T-shirt is a H&M basis that was only £3.99 and will go with so many outfits, I am loving the basic tee and blazer combo at the moment! The handbag is the Laura Ashley one I have shared previously that I picked up on a trip to TKMaxx. I have found a couple of new alternatives to suit all budgets. Polene Paris is a handbag brand I am seeing everywhere at the moment and they have this gorgeous bag in burgundy. If you are on more of a budget Kurt Geiger have one currently on sale for £39, that is a lovely cross bossy bag.
Lastly my shoes are also H&M but I can’t find them any more, they do however have these which are the same as mine just without the gold detail.
Outfit two I have gone for more work wear with the blazer and shirt. This shirt is from H&M and they have it in lots of colour ways, I might have this pink, the green one and the blue one! There are two pink options, this is the powder pink striped. I have also sized up two sizes for the oversized look. My blazer is Stradivarius I have shared before, I wear this so much as I think it is a really flattering style. It is sold out but ASOS have similar.
I think my handbag is a love it or hate it one! I love the fake fur details on it I think it gives it a real edge. It is from Zara and was still in stock at the time of writing this. Backless loafers are really have a moment, mine are Matalan and no longer is stock but I have linked some lovely ones on ASOS above.
Outfit three is more of a dressy look, I feel like a denim jacket would also look good over this outfit until the weather improves! Starting with my Pearl and gold necklace, this is from TKMaxx and I am struggling to find similar. There is this one from Abbott Lyon that is lovely. Next up is this sweater vest dress which I have styled as a top this time, it is from H&M and it is actually still in stock for once, link here.
I think my handbag speaks for itself! If you did miss my full blog post on it, find it here. This is the Vivienne Westwood Debbie bag, she is glorious 😍. If you are in the market for any designer bag I recommend checking out Brandalley, you can sometimes pick up a great deal, I got a Vivienne Westwood purse for pretty much half price. The shoes I have shown before but they are a classic timeless sandal that I will be rolling out at every summer event I have, remember to size up though!
Outfit four is my super comfy Sunday dog walk look. My hoodie is Big Wild Thought, who I’m sure you’re aware by now that I love. This hoodie was from their surprise item sale, I ordered a hoodie and they pick the colour and animal at random. I know it’s summer and a big coat shouldn’t be needed but the weather is not agreeing with that at the moment! The coat I am wearing is from Stradivarius and is out of stock, but I have two alternatives for you. Firstly this wool mix one from Monki and then a slightly cheaper wool look version from Boohoo.
My handbag is from the Cambridge satchel company and it’s my daily go to bag as it goes with so much in my wardrobe. They don’t seem to do my exact one anymore but there is a similar version called The Melody. I have also discovered the brand Zatchels that seem to stock satchels in an array of different colours and sizes! Lastly my high top converse, I actually did my first ever blog on these shoes, I’m saying first ever as if I have done 100! This is only my 15th post, it seems so much more than that! My exact ones have a shearling edge and inside on them and I can’t see them anywhere anymore, I think they might have been children’s. I have found this similar grey pair on the Converse website that would give you the same look.
My last outfit, outfit five is another everyday outfit that would work for a day out shopping, brunch, trip to the beach etc. I am loving the cardigan over the shoulders look at the moment. The top and the cardigan were a two piece set I picked up from Stradivarius, I have got so much wear out of it. Warehouse have this grey version currently in their sale that you could achieve the same vibe with. Both my denim shirt and handbags are charity shop finds so make sure to check out your local ones now that they are open again. Superdry do have this shirt currently half price which would be a good buy as I think you would get so much wear out of it.
The alternative handbag I have chosen is actually one I currently have on order actually, it should be arriving tomorrow. It is from Floretti and they currently have a big sale on, I spent more time then I would like to admit working out which handbag I was going to get! Lastly my sandals are super comfy ones from H&M that are a bargain £12.99.
That’s it for this weeks blog, I hope you have enjoyed and picked up some new ideas on how to wear your leather leggings for this time of year. Don’t forget to subscribe so you get notified when my next post goes live. Next week I am planning occasion/wedding guest outfits, I hope you will join me.
Hello and welcome to my latest blog! This week I am focusing on summer dresses and I have ten dresses to show you of varying colours, styles and patterns!
First of all I have to apologise for this weeks photos, my photographer aka my boyfriend was not well so my tripod and I had to go it alone and let’s just say some pictures were more successful then others, normal service will resume next week!
On to the dresses….
Dress one
Dress one is a mini shirt dress from New Look in this pretty floral pattern. It is currently down to £7 in the sale and there are a couple of sizes left. If your size is not available they have it in a pink version as well. ASOS also have this from Miss Selfridge with a similar ditsy floral pattern, so cute!
Dress two
Dress two is another one from New Look that I picked up at the same time as the first one. Just realised I bought these in February, I was obviously expecting a heatwave! This dress is actually sold out now but I have found similar, on ASOS this Stradivarius dress is a similar colour combo just with long sleeves. The other option is also long sleeved which I think is probably better for the current weather conditions we are having! H&M airy dress.
Dress three
Dress three is a Zara sale bargain, I think it was £5 and is of course out of stock now, it also has pockets if you can’t tell 😂! Looking at the Zara website they have this similar style dress is a green and black colour combo. On this page they also have a good selection of alternative dresses to have a browse through. Missguided also have a dress in a super similar floral pattern and it is a flattering wrap style that is lovely.
Dress four
Dress four is a beautiful blue colour that I love! The smocked top of this dress makes it super flattering for most body shapes, it is also a bargain £12.99 and actually still in stock in some sizes 😳, here is the link. This dress is also available in white.
Dress five
I am obsessed with the periwinkle colour of this dress, when I got it I may have googled periwinkle clothing in an attempt to fill my wardrobe with this colour! This is from Monki in the sale and still actually available in some sizes, here is the link. It is also available in a classic black.
Dress six
Dress six is an ASOS one I bought as one to potentially wear on my birthday last year, as my birthday is November it was definitely wishful thinking! This Silk Fred dress is a similar style to mine just in more of a khaki green colour. I have also found one on H&M which is definitely more evening wear in a lovely emerald green, it’s a pleated style which I think can be very flattering.
Dress seven
Dress seven I expect everyone has seen a hundred times over at this point as it is part of H&Ms meadow collection that has been super popular. It is actually currently still in stock in some sizes so I have linked it here. It also comes in a couple of other floral patterns, white with small flowers and white floral.
Dress eight
Dress eight is another one from the H&M meadow collection 😬 I couldn’t resist the bow detail at the back! Hoping I will have somewhere to wear it at some point! There are a couple of sizes left in the cream. I have linked the patterned one here but when I last checked it was completely out of stock. I have also found this beautiful dress on Karen Millen that is similar to the H&M one with the ruffles at the top.
Dress nine
Dress nine is one I have shown you before, in my spring pastels blog. If you missed that I will link it here. It’s a super easy just throw it on dress that you could style in loads of different ways to get you from spring to summer. It is Wednesdays Girl on ASOS and they still have a couple of sizes left. I have found a couple of alternatives both from ASOS, firstly a long sleeved version of mine in a slightly different green and a thicker cord material. Next a longer version in a smock style.
Dress ten
Lastly dress ten is another one I have shown before in my ways to style my Vivienne Westwood handbag blog. This was a Zara bargain sale purchase that is now out of stock. There is this alternative on Nasty Gal with a cute collar detail, Nasty Gal have some really good discounts if you time it right you can sometimes get 50% off. I have also found this poplin dress on Zara that would be a good alternative.
That’s it for my summer dress edit, I hope you have enjoyed reading! I have actually had a couple of new summer dresses arrive over the last couple of days so if you want further details of those be sure to check out my Instagram where I will be styling them shortly @whatkatyworenext_
Next week I will be back to styling outfits, with ways to wear leather leggings for spring/summer. Hope you will join me.
Hello and welcome to my latest blog. If this is your first time here and you like what you see, maybe check out some of my other blog posts. Last week was ways to style the classic white shirt, the week before the satin slip dress and I have also done posts on trench coat styling!
This week I am doing things a bit differently, rather then style complete outfits I am going to be showing you ten blazers, all of varying styles and colours and letting you know where you can find similar.
Blazers are such a good staple for this time of year when a full on coat might not be needed but you still need some sort of jacket to get you through! They are also a really good day to night item that you can style up with some heels or dress down with some trainers.
Ok on to the blazers
Blazer one
Blazer one is a tropical print version from ASOS that I only brought recently but has already sold out, I have linked it just in case. I have found a couple of alternatives, first up this palm cover up from Monsoon which is a lovely teal colour. Also found this from Jayley which is a silk blend jacket in similar colours to mine.
Blazer two
Blazer two is a longline version from H&M. This is a purchase from last year so is sadly out of stock, but as always I have alternatives. Nasty Gal for this doubled breasted version, in what looks like a super similar colour. Or ASOS for this what they call an extreme dad blazer, I can’t see my Dad in this but nevermind!
Blazer three
Blazer three is from a brand called Heartbreak on ASOS, they have a great selection of similar blazers to this one currently in stock. This is the nearest colour match I could find. They also have this colour way that I think would look great with some light wash jeans.
Blazer four
Blazer four was a Depop purchase and is from a brand called Revolve and it’s such good quality, I think I got a real bargain! This is the nearest I could find in their current stock on the website, but would be worth looking at second hand places like Depop. I also found this on Monki which is a similar oversized look and comes in a variety of patterns and colours.
Blazer five
Blazer five is from Stradivarius, I got it just before Christmas and they don’t seem to stock this colour anymore but they do have it in this lovely blue colour which is perfect for spring and summer. Also found this on Marks and Spencer which seems to be a good colour match for my blazer.
Blazer six
Blazer six is a H&M one that I picked up on Depop again. I can’t find similar on the H&M website so I have a couple of alternatives for you. Firstly from a brand called Style of Beyond there is this that they are calling Balmain inspired, which I can see from the cut of it. Next up I think I have shared this one previously from Lily Lulu Fashion which is more of a Shacket but in a lovely tweed material with the Pearl buttons.
Blazer seven
Blazer seven is wool blend in a neutral beige colour from H&M. Such a nice classic style that will go with so much in your wardrobe. This is no longer in stock but as always I have found similar. &Other Stories have this, which is also wool blend but a bit more expensive then mine. Also found this from H&M, it’s a bit of a darker shade but still a lovely alternative.
Blazer eight
Blazer eight is from Stradivarius and I love it as it instantly boosts an outfit. It is now out if stock but I have found a similar one on their website. River Island also have a good match for mine, I think it is a lovely shape. On a side note River Island have some beautiful handbags, might have just fallen down a handbag rabbit hole!
Blazer nine
Blazer nine is a H&M sale purchase from last year and this picture has shown me that I love the shape of it 😂 I have found a similar one on H&M with more of a blue tone to it, currently also in the sale! I have also found this bargain on Ultamodan, this is the jacket with the matching trousers! I have never purchased anything from there before but will definitely be having a good look!
Blazer ten
Lastly blazer ten is a new in purchase from my latest H&M haul. If you want to see what else I picked up on that haul, check out my Instagram @whatkatyworenext_as I filmed a reel of it all! This is the link for the blazer, it’s like a soft green colour, currently only large in stock but turn those notifications on and add it to your favourites! If you did want a alternative, I have found this linen one on LaRedoute in more of a vibrant green.
That’s it for my blazer edit, I hope you enjoyed the slightly different format! Thank you for reading, if you want to be notified when I post my next blog be sure to subscribe, I would really appreciate it!
Hello and welcome to my latest blog, you have probably guessed from the title that this is part two of my white shirt blog. If you missed part one you can find it here. There I give you details of my white shirt and some alternative for you to have a look at.
Let’s get straight on to the styling…..
Outfit four
First up I have layered the shirt underneath a jumper for a casual look that I have then dressed up with heels and leather leggings!
Ok let’s start with the cream jumper I think this tones really well with the white shirt. This is from H&M last winter I think and it has a nice wide off the shoulder neckline that I think works with the shirt underneath. I have found a similar one on the Superdry website, which is also currently on sale.
My leather look leggings are my go to ones that I have mentioned in previous blogs, I like them as I think the detail on the knee makes them a little different. New Look still have them in stock and they are currently in the sale.
Next up I have added some light brown to the outfit with my handbag and shoe combo. The satchel is from ASOS last year. I have seen this alternative on the Next page that I think would work well. Lastly my shoes, I can’t actually remember where I picked these ones up but I have found these on Dune that are a really good match and in the sale!
Outfit five
Next I have done a more traditional white shirt look, going formal with a black suit.
My necklace is actually a Christmas present from years ago but it is still one of my go to necklaces! I have found this beautiful Art Deco style option from Gemondo that has a similar look.
My jacket is a H&M sale purchase, it has a jacquard weave pattern and is a fitted style giving it a bit of a unique look I think! Luckily it is still in stock as I think I would have struggled to find a similar one for you!
The trousers are from Zara but unfortunately out of stock now or I just can’t find them on the Zara website, I do find searching on there a minefield! Anyways I struggled to find ones with white dots like mine so I have gone for some pinstripe ones from ASOS that I think would give a similar look.
My handbag is a recent Zara sale purchase that is actually still in stock…quick!! I was looking for a black handbag as I didn’t actually have a decent one, but I wanted one with a bit of an edge, hence the shearling detail! I love it but my boyfriend was confused by it 😂.
Lastly my sandals are H&M ones that I have wore lots in my blogs, so this week I have found an alternative pair that are genuine leather from &OtherStories, a little more pricey but as I say they are leather.
Outfit six
For the last outfit I have done a full night out look by tying the shirt up and teaming it with a bralette.
Let’s start with the bralette , this is actually a current season Zara one that is still in stock, linked here. They have it in other colours and also lots of similar ones at the bottom of the page.
My jeans are also high waist ones from Zara a couple of years ago now but I have found these on their website that I think look similar, they also do these in a variety of colours so if you like them that’s you set for jeans!
Now my clutch bag is another one I have shown before, it’s New Look and old stock, so I have found a couple of alternatives for you, one budget friendly, one not so much. So first up is this one from Zara with lovely silver stud detailing which would go with so much in your wardrobe! Next is a beautiful Saint Laurent clutch bag with the classic YSL logo 🤤 she is a beauty but definitely a treat item and probably more expensive then everything I have linked on this page put together 😂.
Lastly my boots! I love these boots and bring them out every winter. You can’t see in detail from this picture but they have some embroidered detailing on the side of them in pink and blue. I have really struggled to find similar, not the best time of year to be looking for a specific type of boot! So I just focused on finding some with a bit of different detailing and I found these with a tortoiseshell heel on the John Lewis page that I thought were lovely and a little bit different.
That’s it for my white shirt styling blog, I hope you have enjoyed and got some outfit inspiration for your own white shirts! Next week I am going to be focusing on blazers, looking at a selection of mine! I hope you will join me!
Hello and welcome to my latest blog, ways to style a classic white shirt. I have six looks in total, so there will be a part two over the weekend with the other outfits so stay tuned! If this is your first time reading my blog, welcome! I also have some others that you might want to check out, styling a slip dress parts one and two, small business love, trench coat styling, all sorts!
Similar shirt
So this week I have picked a classic staple item in my wardrobe to style, the white shirt. I find this is sure a versatile piece to have and you can mix it with so many different styles. I currently have two white shirts in my collection (a third might have arrived today 🤫) for all of these looks I have used the same shirt, from Native Youth on ASOS. But there are literally thousands of them out there. I did plan to do one look with the shirt being a dress but mine was just a touch too short to pull off the look!!
The one I am wearing is in the sale and there are limited sizes left but here are some alternatives for you from ASOS. This could work as a shirt dress I think and it looks like it has a slightly different texture to it which is nice. Next is this shirt with black buttons, which again makes it a little bit different. The last one is super similar to the one I am wearing and is a good price for the bargain hunters amongst us.
Ok on to the outfits….
Outfit one
For my first look I have gone for one of my favourites…the sweater vest (I don’t think I’ve mentioned it for at least two weeks so I am doing well) this is a dress version in like a mint green which I think is a good combo with the white shirt. Firstly I’m not going to talk about all my sunglasses again as I’m sure by now you know where they are all from as I mention them in every blog!
My sweater vest dress is a Stradivarius one that is actually still in stock so I will link it here, it also comes in a selection of other lovely colours, I am wearing it in aquamarine. My handbag is my Laura Ashley one I have mentioned previously that is from TKMaxx, I have found a couple of really lovely alternatives this week. First is one from Fiorelli via John Lewis, they call it a mini grab bag but it is around 20cm so not stupidly mini and in a lovely cherry colour. Another option would be a cross body bag from Fossil which is currently half price in the sale and has another 20% off at checkout 😳. I will definitely be on their website when I have finished this….who am I kidding I’m taking a look straight away.
Lastly my loafers, which match perfectly with my handbag. These are from New Look a couple of years ago and are actually too small for me but I love them and don’t want to part with them! I have found what I think is New Looks current version of the ones I am wearing, maybe a slightly different colour but still the same vibe and in the sale.
Outfit two
Ok this outfit is definitely made for a summer holiday! Here I am using my white shirt as a little throw over for when it is a bit chiller, maybe in the evening after a day of relaxing by the pool, wishful thinking!
My hat is a H&M recent purchase and I have linked all the straw hats here as they have sooo much choice, I love the one with the brown ribbon that ties under the chin, but I just went for a plain one so it went with everything. Not that I plan on wearing my straw hat everyday sat at my desk or anything but you get my point 😂. Next my necklace is my Monki one from ASOS that I am a bit obsessed with and wear at least twice a week at the moment.
I’m sure most of you will recognise this dress as part of the Meadow Collection H&M recently released as everyone I see on Instagram has been modelling it or a design similar! I just happened to be on the H&M app (shock) at just the right time To pick this up in my size as everything sold out super fast. H&M do seem to have a small restock most days so do add to your favourites and keep checking! Currently my dress in a different floral pattern is available in a couple of sizes.
I have shared this handbag before, however I think I might have been holding it back to front for that picture 😂 so here it is in all its glory. It is a old one from New Look though so I have found this alternative from Mango on the John Lewis site that I’m a big fan of!
Lastly my little sandals are another H&M purchase that I think will be on my feet for most of the summer! They are now out of stock, so I have found a similar pair from Deichmann that look super comfy.
Outfit three
So this is my super casual day to day way to wear a white shirt look, a classic, shirt and jeans combo.
My jeans are ones that I think I bang on about at least every couple of weeks, but they are just my favourite and there is no getting around it. I am going to have to buy at least another pair as I have anxiety that they are going to stop stocking them! They are from Collusion on ASOS and a bargain £12.
Next my classic satchel from the Cambridge satchel company, another staple in my wardrobe that I love pairing with so many different outfits. My exact bag is out of stock but I love this one in french grey with gold detailing.
Lastly my floral boat shoes! Now I had actually forgot I had these as I wear them so much every summer then pop them into my storage over the winter and have a lovely surprise when I discover them again! There are from Aldo but I think I got them on Depop. I love them as they make a simple outfit that bit more interesting. Now I have struggled to find an alternative in the current online world it I have these deck shoes in a lovely green from Crew Clothing that would have a similar effect on a simple outfit. I will keep my eye out for a more floral alternative and share on my Instagram if I find any!
That’s it for part one of ways to wear a white shirt, I really hope you have enjoyed reading and I have given you some inspiration for your own white shirt looks. I will be back with part two in a few days.
Hello and welcome to part two of my one dress six ways blog! If you have missed part one you can find it here. There you will find three more outfits and the details for my slip dress, plus some alternatives.
Let’s get straight on with the outfits….
Outfit four
First up I have made the dress into a high waisted skirt for this look. If you follow my Instagram you will see I wore this look to work the other day, well to my desk in the lounge! My sunglasses are my Stella McCartney ones, details on part one of this blog. I think I got this denim jacket either from a charity shop or Depop, I thought the embroidery on the shoulders was really pretty. I’ve not ventured back out to the shops yet but I will definitely be checking out the charity shops when I do, great for a bargain. My boyfriend and I love a day out shopping, nice brunch somewhere and a browse around a few shops, although he is not a fan of coming into Primark with me! Anyway I have found this jacket on ASOS Marketplace that has some gorgeous embroidery on it, I would definitely be buying it if I didn’t already have this one!
Next is my T-shirt from Big Wild Thought, I have talked about them on the blog before and covered them in my small business love edition, which you can check out here. This is one of their standard T-shirt’s that I have just tied at the back with a hair band to make it look more cropped. They have so many designs to chose from on their website and they are adding new ones all the time.
Next up this lovely little handbag, Newsflash…I did actually buy this one myself! This is a Kurt Geiger one I got off the TKMaxx website, I just love the eagle logo on their stuff and this one was less then half the rrp, what’s not to love! Unfortunately other people loved it too and it is no longer in stock on there but this Laura Ashley one is a similar size and colour. However if you can’t resist the eagle, TKMaxx have this Kurt Geiger grab bag currently in stock.
Lastly my boots are from Miss Selfridge a couple of years ago now. I love the buckle detail at the top of the boot so I have found some with a similar detail from Nasty Gal. Now is the time to buy boots as they are all in the sale!
Outfit five
For this look I am back wearing the dress in the way it was intended, as a dress 😂 but with a cute little T-shirt underneath. Taking of the T-shirt , this is from another small business that I love and mentioned on my small business love blog, Emma Warren designs. The cropped version of the mini bee top is no longer stocked (however I have seen it on her Depop so if you are quick you can probably pick it up there for a bargain price) but the standard mini bee tee is linked here. Check out her other designs as well, she is currently working on a new collection and I am excited to see what she has in store!
My belt is from H&M, my first H&M item of these three outfits, go me! It is still actually in stock and is one of those great pieces that add a little something to an outfit for a bargain price. My handbag is my Christmas present from Graham, my satchel from the Cambridge Satchel company, I wanted one of these for so long and I love it! They have so many different options, here is a link to their satchel page.
Lastly my converse, I have had these for years now and I actually got them for Depop. I always go back to them when I want to add a pop of colour to an outfit. Try Depop, you might find yourself a bargain! If you are looking for a brand new pair Schuh currently have these in stock.
Outfit six
Don’t ask what I am doing with my hand in this picture, I have no idea 😂 I didn’t even notice I was doing it until I saw the pictures! For my last look I have gone for a super simple casual look with the dress loose and a shirt thrown over the top.
Looking at these pictures, my steaming of my white shirt was not a success! Anyways a white shirt is a key staple in your wardrobe that can be used in so many different outfits, in fact next week I will be showing you ways to wear a white shirt! I picked this up on ASOS and it is from Native Youth. I also like this one from Collusion for an even more oversized look.
My straw bag is from H&M and I think it will be a perfect bag for summer, it’s a good size to fit all your bits for the beach in. Lastly my sandals are also a H&M purchase (shocking!) they were in the sale for £4 so have typically sold out, I will link in case they get them back. I can’t speak to how comfortable they will be as I have only worn them for this one picture so far! I have also found some alternatives on New Look that are lovely.
That’s it for this weeks one dress six ways blog, I hope you have enjoyed reading. I will be back next week with ways to wear a white shirt. If you want more from me don’t forget to check out my Instagram @whatkatyworenext_ for daily outfits and shopping hauls. If you have any ideas for what you would like me to cover let me know in the comments.
Hello and welcome to my latest blog, one dress six ways. This one will be another two parter from me, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for part two, in a few days.
The dress I have chosen is a satin slip dress I recently picked up in the H&M sale. I hope this will be a good way of showing you how versatile dresses can be by just styling them differently, hey presto six dresses in one! Now to be honest this dress on its own is not the most flattering on me, it hangs quite loose and seems a bit shapeless, I thought I would definitely be returning it, but as you’ll see it just needed some accessorising to show it in all its glory.
The dress itself
My one is linked here, it is in the sale so sizes are limited, I have however found some alternatives for you. The first is also from H&M (I promise when I get back out to high street shopping I will be sure to go in other shops as well 😂) it is a lovely cream colour that you could pair with so many outfits. Nasty gal also have a version in a variety of colours, I personally like the teal. Lastly if you were willing to pay a bit more this Abercrombie & Fitch one is lovely in the pink colour.
Now on to the outfits….
Outfit one
Breaking news….I have a fresh haircut for these pictures!! Soak it in as I can never get it to look the same as when my hairdresser does it, so it will be back to looking questionable next week! Ok First up I have styled the dress with a long sleeved tshirt underneath and an oversized blazer over the top, to create a casual look. Starting with the sunglasses, these are ones I picked up in Primark a couple of years ago, but these Oliver Bonas ones are a good colour match with the tortoiseshell and turquoise, which is a colour combo I never knew I liked but I’m here for it! The green striped top is another Primark purchase from when I used to pop in there for a couple of bits and come out with bags full! We’ve all been there right?! The alternative I have for you is a lighter green but it would still work well with this outfit, it is actually from TU Sainsbury’s and a bargain £7.50. I think supermarkets are a great place to get affordable stylish fashion, I used to spend just as much on the clothes in Tesco as I did the food 🙈.
Let’s talk blazers, they were super popular over autumn/winter and I think this will continue throughout the year, as they are a great way to lift an outfit. My one is from H&M and I stalked it when it was in the sale until my size came back in stock. I couldn’t find an exact match from mine so I have got three alternatives for you. This first one is from H&M and more lightweight than mine so good for spring, next up we have this one from &OtherStories, it is a wool blend and a bit more expensive but is the best match for mine so I wanted to share it. Lastly Zara have a version in more of a mink colour that looks really nice and is also wool blend and double breasted.
This dress needs looks best with a belt I think as it gives it a good shape, my one I have shared before but it is a H&M one and is still available. My bag is also one that I have shared before from ASOS last year, let’s just ignore the fact that I have it the wrong way round! 😂. Recently I have started to buy less handbags and when I do invest in a quality one, as if you look after them well they can last you a lifetime and they will never not fit you anymore, unlike clothes! Anyways with that in mind I have found this Ted Baker bag that is a good match for my one, but more of a pricey piece that will last you. If you were however looking for a more affordable option, ASOS have this one currently on sale for £8.80! Lastly my little pumps, these are H&M and I mentioned them last week, they are currently sold out but I have found them without the gold detailing here. If you were however keen on the gold, Dune London have these that definitely it that bill!
Outfit two
Here I have styled the dress as a going out outfit, and I think it works really well with the leather jacket! Let’s start as we always do with the sunglasses, these are my Stella McCartney ones that I picked up from TKMaxx, they don’t have them in stock currently but these Fendi ones are lovely and a bargain when you look at the RRP. Next up the belt, you can’t see much of it in this picture, but it is the one my boyfriend affectionately calls the shower cord! It is currently still in stock, check it out here. My faux leather jacket is from ASOS and is actually about four years old now and still going strong. It is more of a dark grey rather then the traditional black and I have found one from Only Clothing that comes in a crazy variety of colours and is a good match for mine.
My clutch bag is another H&M sale purchase from last year, this colour way is no longer in stock but they have a version in black and gold that would still work. I have also found this from Kate Spade which is a bit more expensive but pretty unusual I think, and also currently in the sale! Lastly my shoes, which are now my go to heels, perfect for both day and night. They are from H&M and also come in a lovely lilac colour that would look great without summer dresses or an all black outfit. The only thing I would say is make sure you size up, I am always a 5 but had to get a 6 in these.
Outfit three
For the third outfit I have styled the dress as a skirt by adding a jumper over the top of it, perfect daytime look. My sunglasses are the ones from outfit one, see above for a link to an alternative. My necklace is from Oriela and is actually in the shape of a pineapple, which I thought was super unique, they no longer seem to stock it and as it was so unique I can’t find a match anywhere! Etsy have some similar that I have linked here. My jumper is from H&M, I am loving this green colour at the moment! I have found this on M and Co and it has really cute gold buttons on the cuffs. Next my Zara duster coat that I think I have shown a few times now, it’s the one I tried to return but it just came back to me in the post! It is out of stock now but this Mango one on John Lewis is lovely, it looks good quality and is a great colour match for the jumper I have suggested.
Next up the handbag that I know we are all familiar with! Here is the link again, just in case it comes back in stock. Whilst we are on the theme of slightly more expensive handbags, Tory Birch have this mini tote bag that is a real statement piece that would uplift so many outfits. They describe it as mini but it looks a good size to me. Lastly on to the heels that I must get back into wearing as the trip down the slope into the garden was a tricky one! These are old New Look ones, but these from Jones the Bootmakers are a good match I think!
That’s it for part one of one dress, six ways. Part two will be with you in a few days. I hope you have enjoyed reading! If you are looking for more outfit inspiration be sure to follow me over on my Instagram @whatkatyworenext_ for daily outfits.
Hello and welcome to part two of my blog on styling a trench coat. If you missed part one you can find it here. There I give details of my trench coat and some alternatives for you, so please check it out.
Right let’s get straight to the styling….
Outfit four
I wanted to do a super casual one, to show how the trench coat completely changes the look of an outfit. This is comfy loungewear that is levelled up just with the trench coat and some nice jewellery.
Talking of jewellery my necklace is from Monki via ASOS but is out of stock, so I have found this similar one on Orelia. I have never previously been a fan of gold jewellery but I am loving it at the moment! Orelia have some really nice pieces, I got my pineapple Pearl necklace from there that I think I have worn in previous blogs. This top is just a plain long sleeved white one from H&M which is a really good basis to have in your wardrobe. These joggers are from Zara and a really nice mink colour that I have struggled to find again! They are out of stock now as I got them in the sale a few months ago, however Zara have brought out a new similar pair with the cuff detailing in nearly the same colour!
My trainers are the Matalan ones I have worn in a couple of posts now as they are my new favourites and such a good price. They also seem to have similar in different colour ways now, which is a shame for me as I absolutely do not need anymore trainers 😳. My tapestry bag I think I picked up in a charity shop a couple of years ago. That remains me, I have not had a good look round the charity shops in ages! You can sometimes find some great pieces in them. There is one near me that focuses on vintage fashion, it’s the best! Anyways I have found this embroidered toiletries bag from Zara that I think would work as a lovely clutch bag and add a good pop of colour to the outfit.
Outfit five
On to a full neutral outfit, this is a really simple look that would work for so many occasions.
Starting with my beaded necklace, I think I bought this on eBay a few years ago. I tried hard to find a good alternative but there doesn’t seem to be many around, this multi thread faux Pearl necklace from Etsy would give a similar look. Moving on to the white tee, now I am sure everyone has a white T-shirt in their wardrobe, but if you don’t and are looking for one, I have a couple of suggestions. The one I am wearing is from Stradivarius and I have linked it here. I have also heard good things about the ones from Arket, they are a little more expensive that your normal basics but I think they would wash well and last you a long time.
My cream leather style trousers are from Lorna Luxe’s collection with In The Style in the petite length. I wear these all the time and I also have them in Black and Tan. I love her collections, her latest one for summer has some amazing dresses in it, I wasn’t quick enough off the mark so I am hoping for a restock! Ok these are not the shoes I has planned to wear with this look and by the time I had realised, there was no way I was getting back out of my comfies to reshot 😂. Not that these Matalan linen ones don’t look good with this outfit, it’s just I had some new H&M slip on trainers that I wanted to give an outing. I will pop a picture of them below and link them here for you.
My handbag is a vintage one I found on eBay that I have just styled with a scarf I picked up from H&M, a good way to give your plain handbags a bit of a freshen up. This handbag from ASOS is a nice alternative to my one and is also in the sale.
Outfit six
NEWSFLASH I am not wearing any H&M in this outfit!!! Well apart from the trench coat itself but you get my point 😂.
For my last outfit I have gone full dressed up, I always like to put one of these looks in and imagine I am off somewhere fancy, hopefully not too much longer before I can put some of these outfits to good use!
My necklace was actually a birthday present from my mum, so I don’t know where she got it from, I think it was Etsy. I have found a similar one also from Etsy here. Moving on to the dress, this one I brought as an option to wear on my birthday night away but I didn’t actually wear it, it’s still waiting for it’s first outing. I do tend to overdo my birthday every year with a week long celebration, my boyfriend will tell you I organised so many meals out last year that he couldn’t face the last one he was so stuffed 😂. This dress is down to £15 in the sale now but there is only a size 6 left, so I have found a couple of ASOS alternatives. This one is a bit quirky but I love the organza detailing and this is a similar style shape wise to the one I have but it is plain black.
Lastly my clutch bag is an old one from New Look that I have mentioned in a previous post, they no longer stock it. I have found one on Wardow that is not an exact match for my one, but I think it is a lovely evening bag that you could wear with pretty much any outfit. It’s a little bit more expensive that the high street but I think you would use it so much.
That’s it for ways to style a trench coat part two, I hope you enjoyed reading. Next week I have chosen ways to wear a satin slip dress, I hope you will join me. If you follow my blog it will let you know when my posts are up and would be much appreciated.
Hello! Welcome to my latest blog post, thank you for joining me.
Today I will be focusing on ways to wear a trench coat. I think trench coats are perfect for this time of year when there is still a chill in the air! Even more so this year as we are currently all socialising outside, it’s good to have that additional layer. They also instantly uplift an outfit and made even the most casual of outfits look put together.
This blog will be another two part one as I have six outfits to talk you through.
Let’s start with the trench coat itself, I have gone for a cream trench coat as opposed to the traditional tan colour, why you might ask? Well it was on sale 😂. Also I already have coats in the tan colour and didn’t think I needed to add another one to my large collection!
My one is from H&M and is reduced to £23, it comes in and out of stock regularly, so add it to your favourites and keep your eye on it! They also do it in the traditional colour, powder pink and black but these colours ways are full price, which at £34.99 is not exactly expensive, I just love a bargain!
Some alternatives for you. Everyone on Instagram is talking about this oversized one , so it seems to be the coat of the moment! The reviews say that it comes up large so you might want to size down. H&M also have another trench coat that comes in both cream and a nice beige colour if you didn’t want the oversized look. Also just to spoil you I have another alternative, which isn’t actually from H&M!! Ultamodan have a lovely one that is a little more expensive than the other ones but it is currently half price, so still a good buy.
Ok now on to the outfits….
Outfit one
I have started with a classic office look as we all start to think about the transition back to the office and out of our loungewear! I have actually been trying to dress more “for the office” recently, just to go to my desk in the lounge, otherwise all my lovely clothes won’t leave the wardrobe. Check out my Instagram @whatkatyworenext to see this in action. This long sleeved top is a burnt orange colour and I picked it up in the Zara sale. (I actually picked it up in orange, black and grey but who’s counting!) It is now out of stock but I have found one from ASOS that is a really similar colour and currently with 60% off. I have teamed it with these brown checked trousers, I have gone for a formal look, but you could dress them down as well as the drawstring detail gives a bit of a joggers vibe, let’s go slow with the transition from loungewear! These are also Zara and currently out of stock, however I have found these ones from Pretty Little Thing that will give you the same look. If you didn’t want the drawstring waist this alternative from The White Stuff might be the way to go, they look super comfy and you could pick the pink or blue out of the check and wear a top that colour. Just got distracted looking at the White Stuff sale, they have some good pieces in there!
Next up the shoes, these are a new purchase from H&M and I am hoping they will be comfortable, they are a good heel height for me, not too high! They are currently in the sale so there are only limited sizes remaining, so I have found another similar pair for you with braided detailing, I actually think I might pick these up in white to go with maxi dresses in the summer. Lastly my handbag is from ASOS about a year ago now, but this alternative from Accessorize is a good colour match in a cross body version.
Outfit two
Next up I think this would be a good look for a little lunch date in a beer garden somewhere. Firstly please excuse my fringe, hairdressers is booked for Saturday and I can’t wait as it is out of control! Let’s start with this shirt, I love it! It’s a satin material and could be mistaken for the top from some silk pyjamas 😂 but it was from the shirt section! They do have matching trousers available but I wouldn’t wear the matching set! I actually saw this on someone I follow on Instagram, The Silver Mermaid and I wouldn’t have been able to find it without her link as they seem to have hidden it deep in the H&M website, it in currently out of stock but you know what H&M is like, it will probably be back soon. I did struggle to find alternatives to this as I think it is a pretty unusual piece but I have a couple of options, firstly this pretty blouse from Ted Baker would give a similar look, or this one from River Island is more of the silky satin material, just in a bolder colour. Now the River Island one is a pyjama top, but I have seen it styled on Instagram with some jeans so I think it would work!
My light blue jeans are another recent purchase from H&M and I think the lighter denim works really well with the cream of the coat. I have just realised this outfit is a full H&M one! They have so much good stuff in at the moment, I start saving what I am going to buy next month to my favourites like two weeks before payday 😂. My sandals are here and they are really comfy, they also come in multiple colours, the brown ones are on the aforementioned favourites list. Lastly my little handbag, this one seems to sell out in minutes, along with the bigger tote version. I shared links to these back on my wears to wear white jeans post and I have seen a couple of people pick these up in store now that they are back open. This Ted Baker camera bag from House of Fraser is a nice alternative, a bit more expensive but a good treat item. Looking on the House of Fraser website is dangerous, they have so many great handbags 😍
Outfit three
For my last outfit for part one, I have gone for an evening look, dinner and drinks maybe. I have also used the belt on the trench coat to create a slightly different look with it this time. My necklace is just a cheap one I picked up from somewhere a couple of years ago, but this one from Oliver Bonas is similar and in the sale! The pink stone would add a pop of colour to a neutral outfit. This dress is a long sleeved body con one from H&M which is out of stock so I have some other options. New Look have one with a collar detail that would work for this look, currently there are only limited sizes left though. NA-KD also have one that looks super similar to the H&M one, this website is a new one for me but I will definitely be checking them out!
My shoes are the same as outfit one and my handbag is an old New Look one that is no longer available. You can’t see well in this picture but it actually has some wicker detailing on the front. I have found some other options. Firstly this one from Katie Loxton is really cute and features a nice bamboo handle and cross body strap. Of course I had to include a H&M option 😂 and I think this round straw bag is so nice for spring/summer and would work well with so many outfits.
That’s it for part one of styling a trench coat, stay tuned for part two which will be up in a few days! I hope you enjoyed reading.

Hello and welcome to part two of my white jeans styling blog. if you missed part one you can check it out here, actually it’s probably best if you do start with part one as it gives you all the details of the actual white jeans and the sunglasses!
Let’s get straight to the styling!
Outfit four- All dressed up
Ok I know white jeans might not be the most practical choice for a night out but let’s be honest they are not particularly practical for anywhere but I still love them 😂 let’s start with this beaut of a sparkly top, I actually wore this one to work the other day 😂, well to my desk in the lounge! I just thought it deserved to leave the wardrobe, so I paired it with one of my many knitted vests, check out my Instagram for a picture @whatkatyworenext_ It is from H&M and this colour way is out of stock but they do have it in black, they also have a very similar one in the same colour but with 3/4 sleeves which I will link here, both are in the sale.
I don’t think my handbag needs any introduction, after my whole article on it! Here is the link to the Vivienne Westwood page for it, if you want to see some similar alternatives at various price points check out my article on it, I linked three options. I can’t wait to actually be able to take her out somewhere! Lastly we are on to the shoes. I have featured these ones before, they are old New Look, but I have found two new alternatives to them that look super glam. They are from Moda In Pelle which is not somewhere I have shopped before and both pairs are on sale. First up are these ones called shimmery nude and I’m sure you can see why! Then we have these ones Seashell nude leather which have the cutest Pearl details in the heel, perfect!
Outfit five-beach vibes
Next up is what I have called beach vibes, mainly because my boyfriend says this shirt looks like deck chair material and I can’t unsee it now! Striped shirts seem to be everywhere at the moment. I picked this one up from H&M and I am eyeing up the green and pink versions as well. I think I might go up a few sizes on one of them so I can style it as a dress or over bikinis, if we ever get to bikini weather!
The grey loafers or boating shoes (you see how I linked it back to the beach 😉) are a couple of years old but I have found you a couple of good alternatives from Deichmann. First up are these slightly darker patent ones with the classic tassel detail and then these ones in a more suede material with chain detail. Both seem to have 25% off at the moment as a little added bonus!
Lastly my straw shopping bag, another item that seems to be everywhere at the moment! Mine is from H&M (surprise!) and is a really good size actually, would definitely work as a beach bag (there I go again!) or even a travel bag, if you travel lighter then I do! I remember going on a family holiday as a teenager and packing all of my summer wardrobe, about ten pairs of shoes and enough outfits to change three times a day! My Dad was not impressed with the excess baggage charge! 😬🙈 I have linked all the straw bags on H&M, mine is the first one but there are some other lovely bags as well.
Outfit six-Pastels are back
For my last outfit I have brought the pastel colours back out, they are my favs after all. You can’t see it the best in this picture but this jumper is a lilac colour and is so soft! It is actually not from H&M for once! It is from Only Clothing and I have linked a similar one here, this one seems to come in so many colours, you’re sure to find one you like. Just had a look at their sale and they have some good bits in there, see I said this was dangerous! Next up is the duster coat from Zara, super lightweight for spring. I have shown some alternatives to this before as it is out of stock, but here is another one from La Redoute which looks like a mix between a duster coat and trench coat, which brings me seamlessly onto next weeks blog which will be ways to style a trench coat!
Lastly this cute canvas shopper bag from Radley’s. I actually got this as the design on it is based on one of my favourite places, Burgh Island. Which is a tiny island near me in Devon with a beautiful Art Deco hotel on it. My grandparents lived in Bigbury on sea when I was growing up which overlooks Burgh Island so I have lots of happy memories of being down there. Ever since I developed an interest in all things Art Deco in my early twenties I have wanted to stay at the hotel and last year I actually got to! Graham booked us a night away in the luxury beach house from my birthday and it was amazing! Little picture below to show us all dressed up for our five course dinner in the ballroom! So when I saw Radleys spring design was based on the island , I had to get the only piece in the collection I could afford, hence this cute shopper! I think everyone must have had the same idea as me as I can’t find it on their website anymore. Here is a link to the other shoppers they have on offer at the moment though.
All dressed up for Burgh Island
That’s it for my ways to style white jeans part two, I hope you enjoyed reading. I would love it if you could like my post and follow my account if you aren’t already, that way you will be alerted when I do a new post! Also if you are after more from me, head over to my Instagram page, where I am doing daily outfit posts @whatkatyworenext_
Hello! Welcome to my latest blog post, thank you for joining me. If you haven’t already please check out my other posts, there’s one on spring pastels and styling my new handbag amongst others.
I am focusing on how to style white jeans this time. As we move into spring/summer my white jeans will be making regular appearances as they are a great piece for this time of year that goes with soooo much in your wardrobe! I have six looks to talk you through but I am going to do things a bit differently this week and break the blog into two halves, so you will be getting two articles from me this week!
First things first the jeans themselves. My ones are from Stradivarius and they are skinny high waisted ones. I know skinny jeans are not as “on trend” as they used to be, but I still love them, they suit my figure the best, I have tried mom jeans but I just don’t think they work on me. Of course all of these looks would work with mom jeans, slim leg, high waisted, low waisted, whatever style works for you! I have linked some different ones below.
This look is the classic combo of black and white with a touch of grey thrown in.
We had such lovely weather this weekend! I had to pull my sunglasses out for every picture! These ones I got from Primark in Amsterdam a couple of years ago now but here are some similar ones from Oliver Bonas which I love. Yes you are seeing correctly this is another sweater vest for my collection 😂 in my defence they are great for this time of year when the sun plays hide and seek. This one is from Lorna Luxe’s collection with In The Style and has cute little tie details on the sides. They also do it in a stone colour. My long sleeved black top is H&M and is a great basic, here is a similar one. The backless loafers are a new purchase from Matalan. I noticed they had 20% off so I had a little look at their shoe section and before I knew it I had three pairs in my basket 😳 So Matalan shoes will be a recurring feature of this weeks blog just to warn you! Here is the link for these ones they are super good value for money! Lastly let’s talk about the handbag 😍 This is the H&M bag everyone is calling a Dior dupe in the small size. These keep selling out over and over again on the website, I only managed to get it by checking my favourites regularly and hitting it just as they restocked. The larger tote bags are going on EBay for like double the price, it’s crazy! I have linked them both here, add them to your favourites I’m sure they will bring them back.
Outfit two-super casual vibes
I have gone for super casual vibes for this look, perfect running errands outfit.
Ok what are we thinking about the cap? it has grown on me, when I first put it on I wasn’t sure, but looking back at the pictures I like it! This is from my Matalan mini haul last week and is actually a boys under 13 years one and only £2.50. My sunglasses I have mentioned in previous blogs, they are the Stella McCartney ones from TKMaxx, similar ones linked here.
My denim jacket is a distressed oversized one from Zara. I did think it drowned me at first but once I rolled the sleeves up and styled it, it became one of my favourite staples. Here is the link to my one, currently out of stock but says coming soon. Also here is an alternative from Boohoo that would work well. You can’t see it particularly well in this picture but I have chosen a long gold necklace to accessories this look. Mine is from Lisa Angel and I have linked a similar one here that is currently on sale.
Next up my button up beige top is from Zara but is currently out of stock, as always here are some alternatives. This one from Monki has a super cute knit detail. Laredoute also have one that is a good match for mine. These trainers are from my earlier mentioned Matalan shoes haul! They are a good neutral that will go with so much in my wardrobe and super good value for money.
Last up is my backpack. I have had it for years and I picked it up from Depop. This one from Cotton Traders is not an exact match but still has the Aztec feel to it.
Outfit three-Neutrals
I think this is a good work look, are white jeans acceptable in the work place? It’s been so long since I have been in the office I’m not sure anymore 😂.
First up the sunglasses, these ones are from ASOS and I only got them a couple of weeks ago but they are already out of stock. Here is a link to similar ones on the ASOS website. My top is a long sleeved one from New Look in a mink colour, I have actually managed to find the exact one and it is currently on sale, bargain! This necklace is one I have worn on previous blogs and is a Meme London one I picked up on the TKmaxx website but it has now sold out. Revolve have one that is actually super similar, you can’t see in the picture but it is actually half gold, half Pearl, which is great as its like three necklaces in one! This alternative is pretty pricey though, so this one from e&e jewellery is a more affordable option.
Next this lovely blazer, is from H&M but I actually picked it up on Depop. I love the Pearl buttons on it. I have actually found a couple of alternatives. The first one is more of a shacket then a blazer but it has the Pearl details and tweed material, that go so well together, plus it is on sale. I haven’t shopped with this brand before but I will be taking a closer look at their website! Or if you are wanting more of a blazer vibe, Zara have one which is a bit different with the v neck and no collar. My Laura Ashley handbag is another one Graham brought for me, I promise I did own handbags before I met him! It is from TkMaxx and we picked it up on a little shopping trip we took to Cardiff, just before the first lockdown. I have actually found a similar one on the Harrods website. Your probably thinking the same as me, if its Harrods its going to be super expensive but its actually a good price! Finding links to similar items is dangerous for me, as I just take a “look” at other things on the website and come out with a wishlist! There is a handbag on the Harrods website that now falls into that category! I have put a picture below, what do we think? Anyways the Cambridge Satchel Company also have this one which is a good colour match for my Laura Ashley one.
bag added to my wishlist
Lastly we are on to the shoes, guess where these are for? Matalan! I will have to be careful where I wear them as they are both cream and linen 😬 but I love the little bow detail on the front so I had to get them! These are actually still in stock in all sizes, here’s the link.
That’s it for part one of styling white jean, stay tuned for part two which will be up in a few days! I hope you enjoyed reading, if you could like and follow my page I would really appreciate it, that way you will be notified when part two is up!

Hello! Welcome to my next blog. As we have reached April , I thought I would do a ways to wear spring pastels. I love pastel colours and wear them all year round come rain or shine but they are obviously the classic colours of spring.
If you are new to my blog, I would love it if you could check out my other articles, including small business love and styling my new handbag. Also if you are wanting to know a bit more about me, please head to my about me page! Thank you.
Ok on to the outfits….
Outfit one
This one is definitely for those warmer spring days! I was worried this dress would be super see through but it’s actually not and currently at a bargain price of £5.70. It’s a Wednesdays Girl one from ASOS, limited sizes now so here are some alternatives, Missguided puff sleeve T-shirt dress and Missguided mint smock dress.
I have teamed this with a denim shirt, let’s be honest the days we can just wear a thin summer dress are limited in this country! this one I actually picked up in a charity shop a couple of years ago and have worn it so much. This one is from Marks and Spencer, size up for an oversized look. Cotton Traders also have a good selection on this link
My converse are a few years old and I think I picked them up on Depop actually. These on the converse website are the nearest ones I can find.
The necklace is from Meraki Accents and they have a large selection of animals, pretty much any animal you can think of! This one is a Kiwi Bird!
Outfit Two
This outfit is a super casual one for everyday. Pastel green is one of my favourite colours and this shirt is a lovely cord material and a great spring cover up.
This little T-shirt is from one of my favourite small businesses. I mentioned Emma Warren on my small business blog. This is one of the T-shirt’s I picked up in her sale as it is a discontinued style. This link takes you to the same design but not the cropped version.
These Jeans I think I have talked about in pretty much every blog! They are my favourite and super comfortable. They are from Collusion at ASOS, mine are the petite length but here is the link to the regular ones.
These white trainers are another Depop bargain and have a bit of a 90s vibe with the little platform. These ones from River Island have a super cute bee on the back and a slight platform.
Outfit three
Ok I think this is my favourite of all the looks this week. A good day to night look! Let’s pretend that I’m in some lovely beer garden after work and not on my garden decking! This necklace is a new purchase, my new handbag might have ignited a love for Vivienne Westwood! This choker is actually an eBay purchase, I wanted to make sure I liked the style before investing in a genuine one. Here is a link to the Vivienne Westwood website but they don’t currently have this style in stock. Some of her necklaces are actually at a pretty good price point….next months treat item 🤔🤣
This cute little sweater vest is 😍. I mentioned on my last blog I have developed a bit of an obsession with sweater vests and this one is a perfect pastel blue, it is a cropped version so bare that in mind. They also have it in white and black.
This white shirt has become a staple in my wardrobe over the last few weeks, so much so I might need to invest in another one. Might get a slightly longer one so I can double it up as a dress. Anyway….like I mentioned in my last post this one is from Cameo Rose for New Look. White shirts are everywhere at the moment so you won’t struggle to find one but here are a couple of ideas. This one is Marks and Spencer’s and 100% cotton. Here is a Zara option, but if you scroll to the bottom there are a few different choices. To be honest I find searching on Zara for stuff a bit tricky as there is just so many options to choose from on everything! And let’s not even talk about their sales, if you don’t check out in the blink of an eye it’s gone!
I have also worn this leggings in previous blogs but they are still going strong! They are New Look and are actually in the sale with a good range of sizes left. These loafers I have had for a couple of months but not had chance to wear them out (shock!). I like that they are a little different then just your standard plain loafers with the little stud details. I got these ones from Schuh but they are now sold out. So here are an alternative from Oasis, that still have the stud detailing.
My lovely satchel is from the Cambridge Satchel Company and Graham got me it for Christmas (I am enjoying this theme of Graham buying me handbags 😉) and my exact one is not currently in stock but here is a link to the website as there are so many to choose from still.
Outfit four
Sticking with the pastel blue theme and the sweater vest theme (see what I mean about the sweater vest obsession….I might have another one on order….possibly maybe 🤫) H&M is the main sponsor of this outfit, I could spend hours on their app, just when you think there is nothing you need something catches your eye and before you know it your shopping basket has other ideas!
Ok starting with this jacket. This one is super nice for spring as it is nice and lightweight. As mentioned it is from H&M and I got it in the sale before Christmas so it is now sold out but as always I have found an alternative also from H&M, this double breasted blazer is a slightly lighter blue but still a perfect pastel. They also have it in mint green which I am tempted by…you see what I mean!
This cute knitted sweater vest is still in stock but only in a M at the moment but add it to your favourites and keep checking back, that’s how I got a shirt and a bag I had been stalking! Head to my Instagram to see me styling them @whatkatyworenext_
The long sleeved tee is also a H&M purchase, I also have it in white and beige, a good wardrobe staple for a good price. The black jeans are not actually H&M these ones are Zara. I don’t actually wear black jeans much, as with a cat and a dog I feel like I just spend the day lint rollering them! These are actually a couple of years old but there are so many on the market you should be spoilt for choice! For my alternatives these ones are New Look and a super good price. If you wanted to spend a little more and invest in a pair that will last you, check out the Levi website, as they have such a good selection with good leg length choices!
My red converse are actually another Depop purchase from a few years ago and they are still in good shape! Converse still have very similar ones in stock and I have linked ones on the Schuh website here. I have also just seen some on Secret Sales for 33% off but as of now they only have sizes 3 and 4 left so be quick!
Outfit five
Of course I had to feature something from one of my favourite small businesses, Big Wild Thought. This super cute jumper is a great pastel pink colour and also super cosy for the chillier days. As you can see this is their bee design but they have so many different animals to chose from badgers, giraffes, elephant, penguins, bats. I won’t reveal how many versions I have! At the moment they seem to be releasing new animal designs pretty regularly so if your favourite is not there now, I’m sure it soon will be! I’m hoping for the red panda…. or am I as I would need to get a jumper, T-shirt, tote bag, cropped jumper…anyways moving on! Here is the link to my jumper.
I have paired it with my Stradivarius jeans that were out of stock in one of my last blogs but have now been restocked. These are one of my favourite pairs of jeans and I have them in stone, vanilla and now white. White jeans styling blog coming soon!
Now my chunky trainer boots are another marmite item I think, I personally love them but I can see why they might not be to everyone’s taste, they are pretty chunky. I got them from H&M last year but they are currently out of stock, I have linked them here just in case they bring them back. In the meantime these Converse high tops are a good colour and style match.
Outfit six
I had to feature one of the animals somewhere right? Just me and my bestie chilling in the garden putting the world to rights over cocktails! I have gone full night out look for this one, showing that pastels have a place at every occasion! Let’s start with the main part of the outfit, this shimmery pink midi skirt! Now I have had this one for years but it only makes an appearance on special occasions and I can’t remember where I got her from. I have spoilt you this time though and found three possible alternatives! Firstly this Oasis one is in the sale and has a cool Ombre effect. Next this one from Hush is a bit pricier, but I have heard good things about the quality of their products. This one is also Ombre and is more of a maxi skirt then a midi. Lastly I couldn’t not include a H&M option, this one is more of a dusty pink and only £14.99. They also do it in a floral version.
This is a skirt that needs simple accessories, so firstly I have just gone for a little cropped white top, the one I am wearing is old New Look but I have found this one which is super similar and a bargain £2.99. Next is my necklace, this one is from Lisa Angel, they don’t have my exact one in stock but have a good selection of similar ones, you can even have initial’s engraved on it. My clutch bag is old New Look but I can’t find an exact match for it online, so I have linked the Clutch bag page from Dune London as they seem to have a great selection of ones that would go well with the pink of the midi skirt. Lastly we have the shoes, now I am not a big one for heels but being 5ft 4in a midi skirt without heels makes me look pretty short! These ones are from New Look a couple of years ago, but as always here are a couple of alternatives for you. These ones from JJ’s House are a good colour match from my ones, sort of a minky grey. These ones from Pavers are a pretty good match, if a little lower in the heel, but that’s no bad thing!
That it for my pastel colours styling I hope you have enjoyed reading. I would love it if you could like this post and give my page a follow, so you are notified when I post a new blog.
If you would like some more of my styling head over to my Instagram page @whatkatyworenext_ where I am posting daily outfit updates!
Hello and welcome back to What Katy wore next. If this is the first time you are joining me, welcome! This is my third blog post, I have one on how to wear high top converse and one on small businesses, please check them out.
So this blog is about my new Vivienne Westwood handbag 😍. This is the first actual designer handbag I have owned and I love it! I mentioned to my boyfriend Graham a couple of weeks ago that I was going to have a break from spending money on clothes this month and use the money I have saved to treat myself to a nice handbag. (side note I didn’t actually make it through the month without buying any clothes, but what I bought was in the sale and I had just returned something so technically I was just respending that money right? 😂). Anyways I decided to have a look at the Vivienne Westwood website. I have always liked her style and I love the orb logo! Plus her handbags are not crazy £1000s! Graham was obviously paying close attention to this, as a few days later a Vivienne Westwood delivery arrived and he had surprised me with one of the handbags I liked! Serious boyfriend points there! There is a video on my unboxing of it over on my Instagram @whatkatyworenext_ if you want to check it out. The question is now what do I treat myself to for not buying clothes (ignore my earlier mention of clothes buying 🤫) maybe my new handbag needs a new purse? 🤔😬🤩
Vivienne Westwood Debbie Large Bag Multicolour
Just before we get to the styling I wanted to throw in some suggestions for similar handbags that you can pick up on the high street if you wanted to create the looks without spending as much. Firstly here is the link to the Vivienne Westwood handbag I went for Debbie Large Bag Multicolour Also a good idea to keep an eye on the preloved market for designer bags, I follow @blaiserubyloves on Instagram and she has a new drop every Friday of preloved designer handbags in great condition at good prices. Her website is http://www.blaiserubyloves.co.uk
Next have a good selection on handbags on their website at the moment from all different brands:
Kurt Geiger London Camel Mini Kensington cross body bag
For an even more affordable option ASOS have this bargain for £22 from My Accessories London
Now on to the styling….
Outfit one
I have become a little bit obsessed with sweater vests I must say, so when I saw this dress version on H&M for the bargain price of £14.99 I had to get it. I have just seen they now have it in black as well.
A classic white shirt is a good one to have in your wardrobe, you will find yourself wearing it with so many different looks. I would advise getting a long one that you can wear as a dress or tuck in to wear just as a shirt. This one is from The Cameo Rose section of New Look. I have also found another similar one from New Look. H&M also always have a good selection of shirts but be careful on sizing, I brought an XS shirt the other day and it was massive, you could have got three of me in there, I know the oversized look is in but it was excessive!
My boyfriend tells me this belt looks like the hose from a shower! That’s probably all you are going to see now, but I can assure you it is not! Here is the link to prove it . To be honest belts is one thing I don’t have a lot of, but I think they make such a different to an outfit and are the perfect finishing touch. This one is also in my basket waiting for payday.
This look is simple and lets the bag stand out, it would be a great work outfit with some tights and loafers.
Outfit two
Ok I know I am a bit early with this full on summer inspired outfit-plus it may have started raining as we were taking this picture-but I couldn’t resist adding this one in! I’m thinking a day time holiday look when the sun is shining upon us! Again simple colours to let the bag do the talking.
The sunglasses are Stella McCartney and I got them from TKMaxx. Because of the nature of TKMaxx with most things being limited stock I can’t find my exact ones but have found an alternative. Still Stella McCartney but a silver aviator. If this one goes out of stock, it’s a good idea to be checking the TKMaxx new in section regularly as they have new stock in every day and you never know what you might stumble across.
My dress I got in the Zara sale for £5.99! It is sold out but I will add the link in case they bring them back. This dress is good as it is not see through like most white dresses and has super cute Pearl buttons.
Some alternatives for you:
This one is also Zara but is a long sleeved option for those breezier days! It is also lined so shouldn’t be see through. If this one is not to your taste, scroll to the bottom of the dress page and there is a good selection of other white dresses.
This one is from a brand I have never shopped with but I thought this dress was a cute option, not sure if it will pass the see through test though! Na-kd seem to have a good selection of white dresses to choose from aswell.
Ok let’s talk about this shoes, they are definitely an acquired taste! My boyfriend looked at them very suspiciously! I got them from Missguided a couple of years ago and whilst I wouldn’t wear them everyday, I think they level up a simple outfit. This exact ones are no longer in stock, so I think these would be good options to recreate the look:
These ones are from Accessorize and I think the nude colour would go with so much in your wardrobe.
These ones are oasis and they have them in black, sage green and light pink.
Outfit three
This outfit I think would be perfect for a day out shopping when we are allowed and the weather is brighter! I tried to get a full length picture in this outfit but I was pulling peculiar faces in all of them 😂 Anyways I teamed the dress and coat with plain white trainers to make this a super wearable look. The sunglasses are the Stella McCartney ones I mentioned earlier. The bodycon midi jersey dress is from Zara and I think the colour matches super well with the bag. This one was in the sale and has now sold out but I have found some similar ones. The one I have pictured below is from Topshop.
This New Look one is also a good option and is currently in the sale for £9.
Topshop Midi dress
Now I actually tried to return this duster coat but something must have gone wrong at the post office as it came back through the post to me! I took it as a sign I needed to keep it and I’m glad I did, as we get to spring/summer it’s the perfect lightweight coat. Unfortunately this was in the Zara sale as well and has also sold out but I have found you some good alternatives. This Monki one looks lovely in the dark green and this M and Co drape coat looked super similar to my Zara one and you guessed it, it’s on sale!
Not that you can see my trainers but they are just some plain white ones I have had for ages and I wanted to share this pair from Schuh as I think they are really nice.
Outfit four
This one I was going for a full night out look, not that I intend to take the precious handbag anywhere where there is a chance someone might spill a drink on her! Also I am more of a dinner and drinks girl these days rather then a night on the dance floor! both the bralet and cropped cardigan are from Zara so make a really good matching set I think. These trousers are the new contour ones from Lorna Luxe’s collection with In The Style. To be honest I don’t shop on ITS much but I follow her on Instagram and I think she is great and I always love her collections. I have the contour trousers in the original black, plus the cream leather style version and wear them all the time. ITS also have good regular discounts so if you hit its right you can get 50% off sometimes.
The heels are New Look from a couple of years ago, I actually struggled to get down the slope to the garden in them as I haven’t worn heels in so long! 🙈 These Lipsy ones on Next look like a good alternative.
Outfit five
I would say this is a good everyday classic look , everyone should have a trench coat in their lives! Speaking of the trench coat, I liked this one because it was a bit of an unusual colour and a step away from the usual beige trench coat. This one was from ASOS Petite but has sold out. The one I have linked is more of a blush pink colour which is a perfect spring pastel item, plus its 45% off! This one is a thicker material but a good colour match for my one.
Underneath I am wearing a little floral print T-shirt, that I got from Nasty Gal last year and have wore so much, particularly with jeans and a blazer. My one is not in stock anymore so these are a few alternatives I have found
My jeans are my favourite jeans from collusion, I wish they did them in all the colours! For me they are such a good fit and a real bargain price. They do petite, regular and tall. This is the link to the regular ones.
My grey loafers are from last year but there are so many loafers on the market at the moment, it’s not hard to find similar ones! Here are a couple. These ones are from Dune London and these ones are from Deichmann.
Outfit six
I wasn’t actually going to include this outfit as it is another casual one, similar to outfit five but I just think the green and the brown in the bag go so well together! Firstly I wanted to mention the necklace I am wearing in these pictures. It is from Orelia Jewellery and is a Pearl pineapple necklace, but it is not in stock anymore so here is a similar one.
The jeans are my ones from Collusion, linked above. This green jumper is from HM but is not available anymore, so there are some alternatives for you. This one is from Warehouse and this one is River Island.
That it for my ways to style “the handbag” I hope you have enjoyed reading. I would love it if you could like this post and give my page a follow, so you are notified when I post a new blog.
If you would like some more of my styling head over to my Instagram page @whatkatyworenext_ where I am posting daily outfit updates!
Today I wanted to do a post about some of the lovely small businesses I have discovered over the last year. As we have all moved to online shopping, I wanted to take the opportunity to find some small businesses to buy with and show my support, albeit in a small way, to their businesses. Let’s get started…..
Emma Warren Designs
I discovered Emma after I saw anpost on Facebook about a large online clothes retailer copying her designs and using them as their own! So many people had tagged her in the post and I took a look at her page and that was it, I was hooked! That was September last year and I have quickly got myself a collection of her jumpers and T-shirt’s. I’m not going to count them as I will probably scare myself! Emma has a huge selection of super cute designs, bees, stars, dogs, flowers, pick n mix to name just a few! Emma makes to order in her studio to reduce waste. She recently had a sample and seconds sale which sold out in minutes 😳. Check her out on Instagram @emmawarrendesign for her daily stories accompanied by her Doberman Bea or her website http://www.emmawarrendesign.co.uk 💕

Big Wild Thought
I discovered Big Wild Thought on Instagram last year as well. Again, counting the number of items I have acquired in only a few short months wouldn’t be a good idea! What can I say when I like something I like it…..in every style and colour 😂. Big Wild Thought is a small business based in Yorkshire and they embroider sweaters, T-shirt’s, hoodies and other accessories with the cutest little animal designs. There are so many to choose from, sloths to elephants to otters or narwhals to name just a few! They have even introduced me to animals I had never heard of, pangolins for example! On Christmas Day last year I wore one of their Christmas designs, an elephant dressed as a Santa Claus that I will definitely be bringing out again this year. They are also committed to helping the animals behind the pictures and give 10% of sales to wildlife charities. Check them out on Instagram @bigwildthought or their website http://www.bigwildthought.co.uk where you will also find their children’s range Little Wild Thought. 💕

Wild Fin
Wild Fin is a sustainable unisex clothing brand based in Hertfordshire that I discovered just before Christmas via Instagram. Currently I am only in possession of two lovely beanies (that I have lived in this winter) but I have my eye on some other bits when I take myself off my spending ban next month! There is a pale pink sweater calling my name that I think would be great for Spring, you can’t beat pastel colours at this time of year! Simone has just launched Wild Fins second collection which includes caps, tote bags and hoodies! 10% of sales go to ocean charities and after launching six months ago Wild Fin have donated over £1000 to these charities!! Wild Fin can be found on Instagram @wildfinclothing and their website is http://www.wildfin.co.uk 💕

Beau Tie UK
I think Emma at Beau Tie is my latest small business find and I discovered her after she did a collaboration with Emma Warren on some scrunchies that sold out within hours! To be honest I never thought I needed scrunchies until I missed out on those ones and found myself scrolling through Beau Tie’s Etsy page to find one to buy! Emma is now the leader of the scrunchie cult after pivoting her business when COVID hit last year and her men’s range of bow ties, pocket squares & ties was hit by the cancellation of weddings. There is also a range of dog bow ties and bandanas that Emma makes called Dog and Beau, is it extreme to get your dog a bow tie to match your scrunchie? Asking for a friend….check Beau Tie out on Instagram @beautieuk_ and Etsy at http://www.beautieuk.etsy.com 💕

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope this has encouraged you to support some small businesses! I’m sure I will find more soon as my online shopping habit continues and will need to do a part two to this blog! Thanks for reading.
The high top converse, the classic trainers that have been around for years and the perfect transition piece as we move into spring! I remember I had a pair of red, white and blue ones back in the day but I barely wore them, as I never really knew how to style them! I probably should have stuck to a more neutral everyday colour, but hey we live and learn! I also used to wear bright green leg warmers and pink leggings to college and no it wasn’t the 1980s but that’s a story for another time. Let’s get started……
The Converse I chose were from Office and are the Dark Concrete Shearling exclusive. They were in the sale so I think they are out of stock but any converse can be used to recreate these looks, hell go wild and try a cream or a black!!
My converse
Outfit one- Sunny days are coming 🌞
I took full advantage of the one day of sunny weather we have at the weekend to venture to my decking to take this photo. Ignoring the foot high swampy grass I had to jump across to get there, a job for another day! Here I have styled the converse pretty simply with a floral mini dress and big sunglasses.
The dress is from New Look (quick its in the sale for a bargain £7) I am wearing a size 8 and would say it is true to size. It’s the Blue Ditsy Floral Chiffon Shirt Dress. The sunglasses are old Primark. If you are in the market for some new sunglasses I would give TKMaxx a try, I just picked up a pair of Stella McCartney aviator’s for £30! Just FYI my love of a bargain will be a running theme.
Outfit two– Nights outs are coming 💃
I’m sure you will tell from this picture, I am not on a night out, I am I fact in my lounge with our large collection of gins but in the current climate this pretty much classes as a good night out! For this look I have incorporated the converse in to what I would call a perfect night out outfit. Letting the skirt do all the talking (lets be honest it looks like it has a lot to say) and keeping everything else pretty simple.
My polo neck is from collusion on ASOS and I’m sure we all have similar in our wardrobes but if you are in the market for a new one and are looking for a bargain (there’s that word again) Marks and Spencer’s have one in their sale currently for £6! Ribbed roll-neck fitted jumper. Moving on to this gorgeous glittery midi skirt, I’m afraid this is one I have had for years from boohoo. I have found a similar one, more satin then glitter but equally as lovely from H&M and what do you know this one is also on sale! Silver pleated skirt now £15.

Outfit three- Alfresco dining is coming 🍴
Introducing Theo the puppy photo bomber. If you haven’t read my intro, this is Theo our one year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel making his photo shoot debut! Here I have gone for a nice cream roll neck jumper dress with the side slit making it a good transitional piece into spring, this is teamed with a check coat and classic satchel bag.
The jumper dress is from H&M but is unfortunately sold out, I have found a couple of similar ones for you though. If you don’t mind investing a bit more & Other Stories has a similar one and yes you guessed it it is currently on sale from £85 down to £50. The relaxed belted turtleneck midi dress. A more purse friendly option would be the knitted polo neck dress from Bonprix at £29.99. My coat is from New Looks JDY collection and is also sold out but have no fear I have found a couple of alternatives. I Saw it First have a Beige long line Borge Shacket currently on offer (feels like this should called what sale did Katy find next!) for £36. Also Dorothy Perkins have a good one now for £22.50, I have put a picture and the details below. Now let’s talk about my lovely satchel 😍 this is from the Cambridge Satchel company and I have had my eye on one of their satchels for over a year and so my lovely boyfriend got me it for Christmas. Being the bargain hunter I am these always seemed on the expensive side, but I see now that it’s about quality and not quantity and I think bags is a good place to invest a little bit more, especially if you plan on using them every day. This is the 11 inch batchel in french grey and I would say it is the perfect size for an everyday bag!

Outfit four- Shopping trips are coming 🛍
I don’t know about you but as much as I enjoy internet shopping-and believe me I have got pretty good at it!- I am looking forward to a proper day trip shopping! For a trip like that comfort is key, which is why I have gone for a causal shirt and jeans look here. Teaming my cream jeans with an oversized sweater and shirt combo.
Starting with my oversized shirt, this one is from ASOS marketplace and they have tons of similar ones or when we are allowed on those all important shopping trips again, try your local charity shops you can quite often pick up some gems! I love the colour combo of this shirt and have picked out the mustard in my shirt And matched it with this sweater from Collusion on ASOS. Unfortunately this is out of stock now but I have found a nearly identical one from Vera Moda also on ASOS, the Vera Moda Aware Sweater in Mustard £26. My jeans are from Stradivarius, which is a brand I have only just recently discovered (probably very behind the times on that one) and are also out of stock but I have found similar ones on H&M for £24.99 Vintage slim high ankle jeans in cream.
Outfit five– All of the above is coming ☺️
I have saved my favourite look for last! I think this outfit is so versatile that I struggled to give it a little caption, I think it could be worn to all of the occasions I have mentioned and more! I have teamed classic leather leggings with a super soft grey knit jumper and a longline checked blazer, alongside my trusty satchel!
Leather leggings are a key staple in my wardrobe and I seem to pull them out at least twice a week at the moment! These ones are from New Look and I like them so much I bought two pairs, they are not see through and have nice ribbed detailing on the knee. I have just checked and wouldn’t you know it they are on sale with most sizes still in stock! Black wet look biker leggings £9. This jumper is from H&M and is super soft, it actually has flounce trimming on the shoulders, which adds a nice detail if it gets sunny enough to remove the jacket. The grey is currently out of stock but there is a light pink and black still available. Flounce trimmed jumper £14.99. Lastly this lovely check longline blazer from Heartbreak on ASOS, this one is in a blue and grey check but this brand have so many different colour ways, I particularly like this mustard and navy one!
That’s it for my ways to wear converse piece, I hope you enjoyed reading and have found some inspiration for some new outfits! This is the first of what I hope to be many blog posts so please keep your eyes peeled for more!
